Description

The Cuppie Menstrual Disc Applicator takes the guesswork out of insertion. If you love the idea of a reusable disc but feel unsure about placing it by hand, the applicator guides the disc into the correct position quickly, hygienically, and with minimal mess β€” the same familiar motion as a tampon applicator.

It’s a great confidence-builder for first-time disc users, and handy for anyone who prefers not to insert with their fingers. Reusable and easy to clean, it pairs with your Cuppie menstrual disc for a smoother routine.

Why use an applicator?

  • Easier insertion β€” positions the disc at the base of the cervix without manual folding and tucking.
  • More hygienic β€” less hand contact during insertion.
  • Beginner-friendly β€” ideal while you’re still getting comfortable with discs.
  • Reusable β€” washable and built to last, not single-use plastic.

How to use

  1. Wash your hands and the applicator.
  2. Load your menstrual disc into the applicator as directed.
  3. Insert at a downward-and-back angle, then release to position the disc behind the pubic bone.
  4. Remove the applicator, wash it, and let it air-dry.

Cleaning & care

Rinse after each use and wash with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser. Sterilise by boiling for 5–10 minutes between cycles, or use a steam steriliser. Store dry in a breathable pouch.

Pairs with the Cuppie Menstrual Disc (Medium & Large). New to discs? Read The Cuppie Guide. Cuppie ships across Kenya in discreet packaging with M-PESA checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should I choose if I've never used a menstrual cup?
Most first-time adult users do well with the Small. Choose Extra Small if you're a teen, very petite, or have very light flow. Go Large if you've given birth vaginally or have a consistently heavy flow. Still unsure? WhatsApp us before ordering β†’
Will it hurt the first time I use it?
It shouldn't hurt β€” if it does, you're likely tense or the cup hasn't opened properly. Try inserting in the shower with relaxed muscles. Most users feel fully comfortable by their second cycle.
Can I sleep with the cup in?
Yes. A menstrual cup is safe for up to 12 hours, so overnight use is one of its biggest advantages β€” no leaks, no midnight changes. Empty it before bed and again in the morning.
Will it leak?
Once it forms a proper seal, no. If you notice leaking, the cup probably didn't open fully inside β€” try rotating the base gently. Most leak issues disappear by cycle two. A panty liner during your learning curve gives extra peace of mind.
Can I use it while swimming, exercising, or travelling?
Yes. Once sealed properly, a menstrual cup stays securely in place during gym workouts, running, swimming, dancing, hiking, and travel. It also handles long commutes and long workdays without needing to be emptied.
How do I clean and sterilize my menstrual cup?
Between uses during your period, rinse with clean water (or mild fragrance-free soap if available). At the end of every cycle, sterilize by boiling for 3–5 minutes β€” don't let it touch the bottom of the pot. Even faster: use an electric steam sterilizer. Store the dry cup in the breathable cotton pouch provided.
How will my package look when delivered?
Completely discreet. The outer packaging is plain β€” no Cuppie branding, no product images, nothing identifiable from the outside. Only you will know what's inside.
Can I pay on delivery?
Yes β€” Pay on Delivery is available in Nairobi and environs via M-PESA, card, or cash on receipt. Nationwide orders are prepaid via M-PESA or card.
Is the silicone really safe?
Yes. Every cup is made from 100% medical-grade silicone β€” FDA-approved, BPA-free, and free from latex, dyes, and phthalates. Each batch is lab-tested before shipping.
How long does a menstrual cup last?
Up to 10 years with proper care. Replace earlier if you notice a sticky or oily texture, deep discoloration, cracks, tears, or a strong odor that won't wash out.
